UCIS Blog

Welcome back from Songkran, we hope everyone had a lovely break! Please read on as we have a few updates and announcements which some will have already been sent via line.

Yearbook Photos

We will be taking additional yearbook photos on Monday 29th April (Unity 1) and Tuesday 30th April (Unity 2). This is for any students who missed the first opportunity in October 2018 and for new students who started in Unity after October 2018.

Please ensure your child is wearing their full uniform (not P.E.).

Class photos will not be redone, only individual photos.

Volleyball

The UCIS JV Girls Volleyball team played in their first CMAC match of the season on Wednesday, April 24th at Nakornpayap International School (NIS).  The Falcons were defeated by the Stallions in straight sets, but had a strong performance considering it was the first match in school history.  After a competitive 25-20 first set, the Stallions pulled away with a 25-8 second set victory to secure the win.

The UCIS JV Girls Volleyball team traveled to Grace International School (GIS) on Thursday, April 25th to play in their second match of the season against the Tigers.  The Falcons lost in straight sets: 25-16 and 25-13.  We are proud of the progress of our girls, many of whom are new to the sport.  (photos to follow next week).

Futsal

After waiting nearly 2 months to open their season due to poor air quality, the UCIS U12 Boys Futsal team opened CMAC Season 3 play on Tuesday, April 23rd with a match against Prem Tinsulanonda International School.

The match, which was played on the futsal court at Ambassador Bilingual School (ABS), resulted in a 2-0 victory for the Falcons.  After a scoreless first half, D-nan (G5) scored early in the second half to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead.  Kush (G4) added an insurance goal on a pass from Purva (G6) off a free kick to extend the lead to 2-0.  Strong goalkeeping from Pietro (G4) secured the shutout win for UCIS

The UCIS U12 Boys Futsal team traveled to Christliche Deutsche Schule Chiang Mai (CDSC) for their 2nd match of the season on Thursday, April 25th.  The Falcons were defeated by a score of 10-0.  Their season will continue next week with a match at Nakornpayap International School

Photos will be posted in our next blog!

Unity Concord International School will be closed on Monday, May 6, 2019 in observance of this special occasion. Classes will resume as usual on Tuesday, May 7, 2019.

Staff Party

Unity Concord International School hosted our first Songkran Ceremony at UCIS for members of staff. The ceremony was part of the traditional “Rod Nam Dam Hua” ceremony. It was a time of fun together as part of a celebration for the Thai New Year. We would like to thank everyone who participated in making this event such a success. Our school founders A.J. Chugait & AJ Amporn were also surprised with a special Anniversary cake to celebrate their recent 29th wedding Anniversary. The evening was complete with a “Thai Sea Boxing” event that showed the best of the best at UCIS.

Vaccinations

To help combat the flu, some of our students recently availed of the opportunity to get immunised. Our Unity 1 students will receive theirs early next month.

Illness Policy

In our continuing vigilance to prevent contagious illnesses, it is school policy that a student must remain at home for 24 hours after a fever, vomiting, or diarrhea. Thank you for your cooperation.

Donation Request

The school nurses would greatly appreciate donations of uniforms that you no longer need or use. Please drop them off to either the classroom teacher or the nurse’s office. Thank you.
