What is Covid-19?
COVID- 19 is a respiratory illness caused by a new virus.

It is caused by a virus called Coronavirus.
-
Coronavirus is a kind of germ.
-
Germs are spread when people cough and sneeze.
-
A person can be infected from touching surfaces contaminated with the virus and touching their face (e.g. eyes, nose, mouth)
-
Symptoms can include fever, runny nose, cough, sore throat, loss of sense of smell, altered sense of taste and fatigue. For some, it can be more severe leading to pneumonia or breathing difficulties. Symptoms may develop within 14 days after exposure.
Protect yourself from getting COVID-19

Wash hands frequently with soap and water.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with your hands.

Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

Wash your fruit and vegetables
-
Cough/Sneeze in a tissue, if none is available cough/sneeze into your shirt sleeve.

1. Preparations Before Leaving
the House
FOR PARENTS/ GUARDIANS
-
Check your child's temperature before leaving home. If your child's temperature is 37.5 C or higher he/she may not come to school.

Make sure your child is wearing a face mask and provide them with alcohol gel.
-
Remind them to bring their own water bottle, plate, spoon and fork and make sure to clean them every day.
-
Personal toy items are not allowed to be brought in school.
1.1 School Bus Screening (If Buses are allowed)
The nanny on board will check the temperature and ensure the child has a face mask and will sanitize the students’ hands prior to allowing the child to board the school bus.
The children will be separated by at least 1 seat, a maximum of 6 students per bus.

Students with a temperature of 37.5 C or higher will not be allowed to get on the school van.

STUDENTS MUST WEAR A MASK
2. Before Entering the School

All students, teachers and visitors are required to wear a face mask every time.

Screening for fever by the nurse. If equal to or above 37.5 and if students are found with the following symptoms like cough, runny nose, sore throat, difficulty of breathing, looking unwell, they will not be permitted to enter the school. If he/she successfully passes the screening- a green sticker will be pasted on his/her shirt as a mark.

The students will wash their hands with soap or alcohol gel for at least 20 seconds and sanitized their shoes.

Parents are not permitted to get out of the vehicles.

Shoes will be cleaned on a disinfectant mat

**Passports will be checked before students return to school**
3. During School Day
-
Wear a face mask at all times.
Wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or hand rub with alcohol gel at the end of each teaching period or after an activity that required touching many materials.
Avoid touching face, mouth, eyes, and nose.
All students must take off their shoes before entering the classrooms.

Social distancing at least 1 to 2 meters away during study, break time and after school

Students and staff must have their own water bottle.
-
Don’t share personal belongings (spoon, fork, water bottle, mask, face towel). Keep it well after use.

Antiseptic or cleaning agents will be used to clean all surfaces on a daily basis. All trash cans will have a lid.

Students to follow signs and instructions for social distancing

Fans turned on instead of air conditioning

Mattresses kept 2 meters apart with plastic partitions to separate.

Homeroom teachers will not allow students to play while others are sleeping (Students will take off their face mask before they will sleep)

Fewer students in the class will allow for these rules to be strictly enforced

SNACKS WILL NOT BE SOLD AT SCHOOL.
3. During School Day Continued
-
Canteen Preparation:
-
​All tables and chairs will be cleaned after every meal
-
All students will follow a seating chart and be at least 1 meter apart
-
School cafeteria staff and TA's will set every meal and students must bring their own utensils.

Several different lunchtimes will be scheduled to allow for social distancing
-

Air purifiers changed and cleaned on a regular basis
-
Hand Sanitizer will be available at multiple locations
-
Any respiratory symptoms will be reported to the nurse and inform the parents immediately to take the student home.
-
The Teacher or TA will bring the student to the nurse's office.
-
The nurse will check the temperature and record the signs and symptoms to the log record.
-
The nurse will contact the parents to take the child to the hospital for medical observation and treatment.
-
The nurse room will be disinfected immediately.
-
If there’s a suspected case of COVID-19 the school will inform the public health government for investigation and the student will be quarantined for 14 days.
-
After the quarantine period of 14 days, the student should be checked again by a doctor and ask for a medical certificate in order to come back to school.
-
All classrooms will be ventilated daily in the morning for 1 hour prior to school, 1 hour during lunch and 1 hour after school.

Students will not stay in AC rooms for 2 consecutive hours at a time.
4. After School
-
Check students’ temperature before going home.
-
Students must be picked up immediately at the end of the school day.
-
School buildings will be cleaned and disinfected on a daily basis including restrooms, playground, teaching and learning resources and equipment etc.
-
All classrooms will be disinfected weekly using an UVC ozone light.
5. When you go home
-
Leave your shoes outside
-
Put mask in trash/ or wash if you’re wearing a cloth mask
-
Wash your hands for 20 seconds
-
Take a shower
-
Disinfect your things with spray
-
Put your dirty clothes in a clothes basket to be washed.
