Loy Krathong at UCIS 2017

Its that wonderful time of the year again, where the long rainy season is coming to an end, and those wonderful cool winter days will soon be upon us. Our students and staff all looked fantastic in their Traditional Lanna clothes, and thank you to all the UCIS staff who helped decorating the school for this important day on the Thai Calendar. Loy Krathong is one of Thailand's most significant holidays. The occasion does not always take place on the same date every year; rather it counts on the full moon night of the twelfth lunar month. The correct date of the holiday is always determined by the Thai Lunar Calendar, although the holiday usually falls sometime in November. Within Thai Culture, Loy Krathong is a time for strengthening the relationships within one's family. In the hours preceding sunset, family members release their Krathongs along the river, having faith that as the Krathong floats away, the coming year will bring good luck! All staff at UCIS wish our parents and students a wonderful Loy Krathong for 2017
