On Thursday 23rd of November 2017, Unity Concord International School, Chiang Mai, held its first Thanksgiving Celebration. This most important date in the American calendar was celebrated at the school by holding a "Thanksgiving Feast" for the students.
Parents and UCIS staff were asked to provide suitable food and beverages for the lunchtime "Feast", and we were not left disappointed. A big thank you goes out to all those parents and UCIS Staff who took the time to cook, or order food and beverages for the day. We were completely overwhelmed by the generosity and quality of the food that was delivered by parents for the event. Recognition must also be given to all the staff at the school who helped decorate and organize the Cafeteria for the event. They did an absolutely marvelous job, and their boundless creativity and dedication to making this events a success is a credit to them.
We have posted a video in this blog of a speech which was given to the students by one of our most passionate teachers, Mrs Brittany Yandell, who is the Home Room Teacher of Grade 5.
Mrs Yandell delivered a speech to the students on the history & meaning of the Thanksgiving day.
Her speech was both highly entertaining and educational for the students and staff, and she received a well deserved round of applause at the conclusion of her speech.
The "Thanksgiving Feast" event was a huge success, and was thoroughly enjoyed by all students, parents & staff who attended. Due to the success of the event, it will not become an Annual Event at Unity Concord International School, Chiang Mai.
